| Club News and Social Announcements Archive Beloved Wife of Werner Davis Passes January 7, 2012 (TACOMA, WA) Mary Davis, beloved wife of Werner Davis, has passed away December 27, 2011. Nov 2011 - WERNER DAVIS- Obituary Werner Leslie Davis - Retired Sergeant Werner Leslie Davis went home to be with the Lord on October 15, 2011. He served 24 years in the United States Air Force and 20 years with the Postal Service. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Elizabeth Davis, a sister, 6 children, 2 daughters-in-law, 11 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. He is greatly loved and will be truly missed by all. A graveside service will be held Friday, November 4, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th St., Kent, WA 98042, with a reception to follow the graveside service in the Garden Room at Weeks' Dryer Mortuary, 220 134th St. S., Tacoma, WA 98444. The memorial service for our dear friend Werner Davis will be held at the Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 24th St., Kent WA 98042 on Friday, November 4, 2011 at 11 AM. August 2011 - Club President Lavelle "Doug" Douglas Passes On
(August 3, 2011) Tacoma, WA -Tee & Turf Club President and friend Lavelle Douglas passes on from cancer. Lavelle was a long time supporter and cornerstone of the golf club and he will be dearly missed by all. Our warmest condolences and heartfelt prayers go out to the Douglas family.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Shiloh Baptist Church in Tacoma, WA at 11 AM on Friday, August 5th.

July 2011 - Unfortunately, life has thrown a couple of curveballs at our club membership lately with regards to health issues and we wish all to please include all your fellow members and members' families in your thoughts and prayers as we, they, and their loved ones make it through these trying times. We have recently experienced the loss of three respected members of our club, Danny McCormick, Art Booker, and Lavell Douglas. Their presence will be sincerely missed by all who knew them. Our warmest condelences go out to the Douglas, Booker, and the McCormick families.
Please feel free to contact your club officers for updates and the current status of your fellow membership. I am sure they do and will appreciate your support as they deal with life's sometimes unexpected course of events.
We also would like to send our thoughts and well wishes to Vergil Murray, Nancy Cedeno, Versa Alexander, and Bill Turner.

May 2011 - Long Standing and Respected Member Art Booker Deceased (May 27, 2011) - Updated June 23, 2011 We are sad to announce the passing of Art Booker, a long standing and supporting member of the Tee & Turf Golf Club. Art had been active in supporting club efforts operationally and socially over the years. Art's sense of humor and unique swing will be sorely missed. The Tee & Turf GC membership wishes to send our warmest condolences to the surviving members of the Booker Family. November 2011 - T&T 2010 Players of the Year And Most Improved Player Announced (November 30, 2010)
The 2010 Players of the Year (POY) for the Tee & Turf Golf Club are Alean Cunningham (Ladies Division), Lavelle Douglas (Men's Division with a handicap of 13 or more), and Jim Henderson (Men's Division with a handicap of less than 13). The annual Player of the Year Awards are given to club players that have displayed a level of participation and accomplishment that is worthy of recognition and reward during the playing season.
May 2011 - Memorial Service for Danny McCormick

Walt Harris recently returned from the Hi-Cal Golf Tournament at the Sienna Golf Club, Las Vegas, NV where he holed out his tee shot on the 7th Hole, a 173 yard par 3 with a 7 iron. Walt recorded his fifth lifetime hole-in-one on his way to shooting a blistering 65 with his group on this par 72 - 6149 yard track. Congratulations Walt and please save a few for us less fortunate!
Tee & Turf Members Honored with Lifetime Membership Awards (March 6, 2010) Today, Tee & Turf Golf Club honored special long standing members of the club with Lifetime Membership Awards.
